Wentworth’s work often hovers between questions of language and etymology and the hardware and
hardwiring of the world. Wentworth never uses a material without consideration of its anthropological roots and a sense of the moments of clarity that can emerge from the overlaps among seemingly unrelated things that surround us.
"My works with cable very much deal with the contradiction of connecting tautness to looseness: only getting ‘structured’ when two elements copulate flexibly near flux and solder. Cable is like a cat's tail, miraculously adaptable up to a point, an agility sometimes contradicted when the tail gets caught in a door."
