Enric Farrés Duran
El viatge frustrat, 2015Single-channel video1h 33' 15''
In the summer of 2015, Enric Farrés Duran, a native of Palafrugell and a descendent of writer Josep Pla, wanted to relive Pla’s "frustrated journey", a sea trip from Palafrugell to the south of France, but this time Farrés Duran was determined to reach the destination. To avoid a repetition of Pla's epic failure, Farrés Duran invested a navigation system that offered him more chance of success: his dinghy would be pulled at all times by a good boat with sails and an engine, captained by a well-known collector. And that is how on 3 August, at the height of the tourist season, Enric Farrés Duran and Josep Inglada (a businessman, art collector and property owner) set off from Calella de Palafrugell for France; Farrés Duran in a small wooden rowing boat and Inglada in a large sailing boat. One pulling the other.
